Monitor Orientation

Monitors play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the SEE Program, by directing enrollee activities, approving timesheets and expenses, authorizing leave, and coordinating renewals with NOWCC.

This orientation introduces new monitors to their responsibilities, and helps veteran monitors refresh their knowledge.

Let's start with some information about the Senior Environmental Employment Program itself.

About the SEE Program
The SEE Program, a partnership between EPA and NOWCC, helps EPA meet support needs with experienced workers:
  • Enrollees must be 55 or older
  • Enrollees are selected by and under the direction of EPA staff, but are not civil servants
  • Enrollees are grant participants
NOWCC provides the basic administration for enrollees, including:
  • Recruitment
  • Payroll
  • HR services
NOWCC handles administration so that monitors can focus on directing enrollees' day-to-day activities.
