Enrollees who work in the field or whose positions involve toxic substances must be under medical monitoring. SEE enrollees are subject to the same field and health and safety training requirements as are EPA staff. If you are uncertain whether a position requires medical monitoring, please contact your NOWCC Field Director or your EPA Safety Officer.
Enrollees must have an initial exam before they can engage in any field activities or work with toxic substances. Enrollees must also undergo an annual exam for as long as they are engaged in such activities.
An NOWCC contractor obtains and tracks all medical monitoring exams - no medical records are maintained by EPA. However, a monitor must notify NOWCC when position duties change, since the change may affect their medical monitoring status.
